John BeverleyJohn Beverley

Mr. Beverley qualified as a Management Accountant in Scotland in 1979, prior to moving to Canada in 1981.  He is a Fellow member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) in Europe, the highest honor bestowed upon members of the organization.

Mr. Beverley has been a member of the association of Certified Management Accountants of Canada (CMA) since 1983.

Mr. Beverley obtained his License as a Trustee in Bankruptcy in 1988 when he was 29 years old, making him one of the youngest Trustees in Canada at that time.

Mr. Beverley has worked exclusively in the field of bankruptcy and insolvency since 1982.  Prior to the incorporation of John S. Beverley & Associates Inc., Mr. Beverley spent 13 years with the International accounting firm, Deloitte & Touche.  Most recently he was their Vice-President in Prince George, responsible for the management of the insolvency department, serving all of Northern B.C.

Mr. Beverley has been the President of John S. Beverley & Associates Inc. since its incorporation in 1994.

Mr. Beverley takes pride in his work.  Since 1994 he has helped over 8,000 people and companies to resolve their financial problems.

Mr. Beverley has a wide range of experience in all aspects of insolvency, having dealt with a variety of assignments in his many years of experience.

Above all he enjoys being able to help people to put their problems behind them and to get their financial matters back on a positive track.

Mr. Beverley knows that bankruptcy is not always your best option.  He looks for alternatives and will happily advise you of all your options.

Aside from helping thousands of individuals to get back on their feet, Mr. Beverley has been involved in various corporate engagements including the following industries:

Mr. Beverley has been actively involved in his community and in the Province through various roles with the Chamber of Commerce, fundraising for the B.C. Children’s Hospital, Kinsmen Club and the Junior Chamber/Jaycees, in which he is a Senator.


Melody DesmaraisMelody Desmarais

Melody has worked in the Insolvency field for over 20 years, 16 of which have been with John S. Beverley & Associates Inc.

Melody is currently an articling student with the Canadian Association of Insolvency & Restructuring Professionals (CAIRP) and is the 2nd year of study in the Chartered Insolvency and Restructuring Professional Qualification Program (CQP), which is the official qualification process for individuals seeking to become a Chartered Insolvency and Restructuring Professional (CIRP) and a licensed Trustee in Bankruptcy.

She has successfully completed the CAIRP’s Course on Insolvency Administration and Insolvency Counselor’s Qualification Course, and is the firm’s Estate Administrator.  She is also a Commissioner for taking Affidavits and has successfully completed courses in Business Law and Income Tax Preparation.


Michelle MakelkieMichelle Makelke

Michelle has worked in the Insolvency field for over 20 years, with John S. Beverley & Associates Inc.

Michelle is responsible for the preparation of all Court documents and the maintenance of the banking records.  She also is a Commissioner for taking Affidavits.


Kim BeverleyKim Beverley

Kim has been with the Firm since its inception in 1994.

Prior to joining us she was the Executive Assistant to the Vice-President of the Bank of Montreal for Northern B.C.

Kim is responsible for all of our estate banking among other duties.


Michelle Newman

Michelle Newman

Michelle has 10 years of Insolvency experience with John S. Beverley & Associates Inc.

Michelle is currently a student with the Canadian Association of Insolvency & Restructuring Professionals (CAIRP) completing her course on Insolvency Administration.

She has successfully completed the Insolvency Counselor’s Qualification Course and is registered with the Superintendent of Bankruptcy as a Qualified Insolvency Counselor.  Michelle’s responsibility as the firm’s Insolvency Counselor is to ensure clients receive the necessary information to create and maintain a household budget and provide advice to clients on the rebuilding of their credit rating.  She also is a Commissioner for taking Affidavits.


Nicole PrettyNicole Pretty

Nicole has been with the firm since February, 2010.  She has 15 years of previous Administration experience.

She is supervisor of the firm’s front office team.  She is responsible for marketing, preparing and sending initial filing documents and notices as well as coordinating appointments.  She also is a Commissioner for taking Affidavits.


Deborah GrayDeborah Gray

Deborah has been with John S. Beverley & Associates Inc. since September 2009.

She is a graduate of the CNC Business Administration Finance and Accounting program.

Deborah is responsible for the preparation and filing of income taxes, reviewing proofs of claim and processing estate banking information.


Hannah CameronHannah Cameron

Hannah has been with the firm since May 2010.  She brings to the team an Associate Degree and many years of experience in office administration.

She is responsible for office media and marketing as well as preparing and sending initial filing documents and notifications.  She is also a Commissioner for taking Affidavits.


Jo-Anne CarterJo-Anne Carter

Jo-Anne has been with us since July 2011.  She has added to the team two years of prior insolvency experience and over 36 years of office administration.

Jo-Anne is responsible for gathering and reviewing monthly income and expense reports as well as preparation of Court documents.


Grace GouletGrace Goulet

Grace has been with John S. Beverley and Asscociates Inc. since August 2011.  She recently graduated from CNC with the ABT Administrative Assistant Program Certificate.

Grace is our receptionist and is responsible for the initial contact with clients as well as booking and tracking consultations and counseling.   She ensures that incoming and outgoing information and communications are dealt with in an efficient manner.
