- Can I Be Sent To Jail?

Some collectors have been known to threaten that they will have you arrested and sent to jail.
This is a threat, which is generally not enforceable by them.
Exceptions
- If you commit an offence under the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act the penalties can include significant fines and or jail terms. For more information see 'Bankruptcy Offences'.
- If you fail to attend a Court hearing relative to one of your debts without receiving the permission of the Judge, a warrant for your arrest could be issued.
